Founded by Gaetano Kanizsa in 1953, the Perception Lab of the
University of Trieste continues a long-standing tradition of research on perception
and cognition. Main research interests of the lab are: illusory
contours, amodal completion and occlusion; the perception of 3D
structure from motion and from shading; lightness and color constancy;
motion integration mechanisms; attention and visual search. In
1999, the lab has been involved in the organization of the 22nd
European Conference on Visual Perception.
